CAPA Tournament of Champions will be the most competitive and highest payout CAPA tournament in 2025! Where the best players come play for the CAPA California Championship title.

Medalists in 3.0-5.0 divisions and quarter finalists of open doubles divisions in our CAPA 2025 championship qualifier tournaments will receive a ‘Championship Pass’ to pre register for the CAPA California Championship 2025.

1. CAPA Los Angeles Championship 5/30-6/1

2. CAPA Upland Championship 7/19-20

3. CAPA Riverside Championship 11/8-9

Each participant will receive our exclusive Black CAPA Tournament of Champions T-shirt. Each Gold medalists will receive ‘CAPA Tournament of Champion’ medal, $50 California Black Bear & CRBN merchandize. Total prize money of $13,500! 40+ Open Doubles, Mixed Open Doubles, Women’s Open Doubles and Men’s Open Doubles prize money will be $3000 each and Open Singles prize money will be $1500. This tournament is for the best players in California!

  Note: Open Divisions are for players rated 5.0 and above, including pro-level players, competing for prize money.

Defending Champion Award

• Each open division champion will receive complimentary entry to the next CAPA event. This award is valid only for the next CAPA tournament and does not carry over to future events.

FORMAT

• Round Robin Play: For brackets with 4-10 teams.

• Round Robin Plus Medal Rounds: For brackets with more than 10 teams.

  Note: $10 late registration fee will be added for any incomplete registration after registration deadline.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

• Enter As A Team: Enter both players’ information during checkout. Both players must register and pay before the deadline.

• Payment Options: If online registration shows your division is full or if you do not have PayPal, use Zelle to capickleballassociation@gmail.com. Include your full name, email, and division in the notes.

• Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email and your team will be added to the ‘Player List’. A welcoming email will be sent within a week after the registration deadline.

• Refund Policy: Withdrawals before the deadline will be refunded one week after registration deadline, with a $3 (amateurs) & $5 (open) PayPal processing fee per transaction. No refunds or credits for cancellations after the registration deadline for any reason. In case of weather-related stoppages, matches will be rescheduled or credits issued.

• Registration Changes: Email us before the deadline for any changes. No changes allowed after the deadline.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

• Official Ball: Franklin X-40 yellow

• Tournament Rules: USAPA pickleball rules apply. Net serves are in continuous play.

• Paddles Regulation: Only USAPA-approved paddles are permitted. UPA approved paddles are not allowed. No Joola Gen 3 or 3S paddles, MOD-TA permitted. New Joola Pro IV series with dual USAP/UPA Certification are permitted. https://equipment.usapickleball.org/paddle-list/

• Age Compliance:

  8+ Divisions: Open to all players aged 8 and up.

  35+ Divisions: Both partners must be 35 years or older.

  50+ Divisions: Both partners must be 50 years or older.

• Rating Compliance: Register according to your DUPR rating. Players can play above their rating but not below.

• DUPR Rating Requirement:

  3.0 Divisions: DUPR rating 3.49 or below

  3.5 Divisions: DUPR rating 3.99 or below

  4.0 Divisions: DUPR rating 4.49 or below

  4.5 Divisions: DUPR rating 4.99 or below

  5.0 Divisions: DUPR rating 5.49 or below

  Note: If a player does not have a rating (NR) or the rating is provisional (*), with 10 or fewer games recorded, the player can join any divisions.

• Disqualification: Registering in a lower division than your rating or wrong age group may result in disqualification.

DUPR

• Score Recording: All matches will be recorded to DUPR with the exception of the open divisions. Results will be uploaded within 2 weeks after the tournament.

• DUPR Account: Every player needs a DUPR account for registration.
